Let me be upfront. This post is influenced by Kim Kardashian West’s recent blonde dye job and her unique fashion choices as of late. Depending on who you ask her husband, Kanye West, is the mastermind behind all these questionable choices and she’s just going along with it. Since many of the choices are an unflattering departure from what she’s typically worn I won’t knock that assessment, however, maybe she just wanted something new(or maybe this). With all that said does your significant other influence your look?
Have you increased or decreased the amount of makeup you wear to please your partner? Have you changed your hair or clothing style based on their suggestions? Were they on point or did you immediately want to go back to your previous style? Let me know in the comments.
If you love makeup you’ve experienced the hope of something working for you only to find out it’s nothing like you thought. If you’re a makeup novice you may grapple with the anxiety of picking something that isn’t going to work for you. No matter the camp you fall in, as a consumer, you have to take a chance, hope for the best, and worst case scenario return it if it doesn’t work. Well L’Oreal is attempting to take some of that guesswork out with their new makeup testing app Makeup Genius.

Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation is the first Nars foundation I’ve tried. I have used the tinted moisturizer(I like it) and I’ve used the Radiant Creamy Concealer(I like it) but I can’t compare it to Sheer Matte or Sheer Glow. My first foundation was a Cover Girl one in Soft Sable. I have no idea how good or how bad it looked but I remember using it, eventually hitting pan and purchasing it again. Not long after that I bought a pink Caboodles organizer and my dad let me order things from an Avon rep he knew. That foundation got the ball rolling for me when it came to makeup. I probably looked like a fool but there aren’t any pictures so I’ll pretend I was cute. 😉 Continue reading What Was Your First Foundation? #BuryMeMondays
My first impressions of the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water are positive. I used it a couple of times on fairly light makeup days so I know I haven’t put it to the ultimate test but it definitely removes makeup. Continue reading First Impression: Simple Cleansing Micellar Water
While there are countless websites and stores that sell beauty products, Sephora and Ulta are by far the most popular to me. Sephora has mid-level and high end brands like Dior, NARS, and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Ulta has mid-level brands like Urban Decay and LORAC and drugstore brands like NYX, Maybelline, and Cover Girl.
There’s a little bit of brand overlap but enough differences for someone to have a preference. So which do you love more and why? Is it Sephora or Ulta? If you’ve purchased anything lately from either store tag me on Instagram and use the hashtag #BuryMeMondays.
After dealing with all manners of sickness in my house for the past couple of weeks I decided to partake in a little retail therapy and purchased a few things from CVS. One of those things was the new Deeper The Berry 8 pan palette from Black Radiance. Continue reading Black Radiance Eye Appeal Deeper The Berry Palette Photos + Swatches
So let’s get this out of the way. Is the Earth Theraputics Precisso Beauty Blending Sponge a Beautyblender dupe? No. The shape and feel is close, but this product isn’t going to hold up to the cleaning that is required of it. I used this two or three days in a row and it started to show wear pretty quickly. I took into account my nails could’ve nicked the sponge during washing, however, the tip of sponge ended up with a tiny hole in it. Since the tip doesn’t get as much use as the bottom I assume the hole came from washing and handling it. I haven’t had this type of problem with my Beautyblender. I think most of us know to skip alcohol-based toners because they can be drying (I’m looking at you Sea Breeze). However, toner is still one of those steps that some tend to take or leave when it comes to their skincare regimen. So where do you stand with toner? Have you found one that you love or do you find it unnecessary? If you have one that you love take a photo on Instagram and use the hashtag #BuryMeMondays.
P.S. I’m still sick. 😦
