So last night I half-ass cleansed my bare face(ie no make-up) by using a cleansing wipe. It was late and I didn’t want to take the time to do everything I normally do. I probably should have, but that’s what happened. After that half-ass cleansing I decided to try Korres Greek Yoghurt Advance Nourishing Sleeping Facial.
What It’s Formulated to Do(from sephora.com)
A centuries-old Greek remedy for skin soothing, moisturizing Greek Yoghurt provides a natural source of proteins, minerals, and vitamins to instantly nourish stressed, dry skin. This ultrahydrating facial-in-a-jar contains a Greek Yoghurt concentrate with two and a half times the protein content of regular yogurt, and works overnight to provide skin with intense, long-term moisturization and nourishment to create a smooth, even complexion. You will wake up to noticeable improvements in skin texture and more moisturized, refreshed skin.
I received the Korres Greek Yoghurt Sleeping Facial as a 100 point perk from Sephora a week or so ago. I thought I’d give it a shot last night because my usual nighttime moisturizer was running out and I was curious how it would work. It turns out this was not made for me and my skin.
It.smelled. Now it didn’t smell bad. The smell reminded me of the Guava Body Butter, also sold by Korres, so as I put it on my face I wasn’t immediately turned off. It was a familiar smell, so I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal. I was wrong. I tossed and turned in my bed hoping that it just needed some time to dissipate, but it didn’t. The smell wasn’t my only complaint though.
The product was really heavy on my skin. It didn’t seem too thick as I squeezed it into my hand, but after I finished putting it on my face I knew it was too much for me to handle. I tried to give it a shot, but I was so uncomfortable that after 30 minutes of trying to sleep I finally got out of bed to wash my face and scrape the last of my usual night cream out of its jar.
So between the smell and the feel of the product I couldn’t deal with Korres Greek Yoghurt Advance Nourishing Sleeping Facial. If the smell wasn’t so strong I probably could give it another shot. I’ve dealt with thick moisturizers before, but the smell was so overpowering that I took my pillowcase off so I could sleep.
It’s just a guess, but those with dry skin may love this. I hoped product reviews on Sephora were broken up by skin type so I could get a clearer sense of who liked/disliked the product but they weren’t. If you’ve tried this or will try this in the future let me know. I’d love to know your thoughts.
The full size 1.35oz Korres Greek Yoghurt Advanced Nourishing Sleeping Facial retails for $45 and is available at Sephora.
